PARTEC 2025 – International Congress on Particle Technology - September 23 - 25, 2025
Granutools is proud to participate in PARTEC 2025, one of the world’s leading congresses dedicated to particle technology, held every three years in Nuremberg, Germany.
About Partec
Taking place from September 23–25, 2025, PARTEC serves as a global forum for scientists and engineers to exchange knowledge on particle formation, agglomeration, coating processes, and industrial applications. Organized by NürnbergMesse and supported by the VDI Association of Process and Chemical Engineering (GVC), the congress runs concurrently with POWTECH TECHNOPHARM, the international exhibition for process operations, creating a unique synergy between research and industry.
Oral Presentations
1. Innovative Method Evaluating Permeability for Tableting Process Improvement
Tuesday, September 23 | 2:50 PM | Room Istanbul | Session: Particle Measurements & Characterization
Salvatore Pillitteri, Particle Scientist, Granutools
Tablet manufacturing involves complex powder behavior that directly impacts product quality. In this presentation, Salvatore Pillitteri introduces a novel approach to evaluating powder permeability using the GranuPack Permeability, an instrument that measures permeability across varying packing fractions.
This method reveals how air evacuation during compression affects tablet tensile strength, offering predictive insights for formulation optimization. A comparative study of three powder blends demonstrates how permeability metrics correlate with mechanical performance, enabling better control over tableting processes.
2. Linking Powder Flowability Measurements to Spread Layer Quality Metrics in Additive Manufacturing via DEM
Tuesday, September 23 | 10:15 AM | Room Tokio | Session: Particle Modelling and Simulation
Ben Jenkins, Ph.D. Student, University of Birmingham / Granutools
In this presentation, Ben Jenkins will showcase recent work on powder recoating in additive manufacturing, conducted as part of an industrial research collaboration between the University of Birmingham and Granutools.
By combining flowability measurements, obtained using instruments like the GranuDrum, with Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulations, the study links powder behavior to spread layer quality metrics. This integrated approach provides new insights into how powder properties influence layer uniformity and consistency, helping to improve process reliability and part quality in AM applications.
Poster Presentations
- Evaluating the Fibrillation Level of a Powder Blend for Fibrillation Process Improvement
- Evaluating the Effect of Temperature on Powder Flowability
These posters showcase advanced powder characterization methods for battery and additive manufacturing applications, including fibrillation quantification and temperature-dependent flowability analysis using the GranuDrum HT.
