Granutools will attend STP 2024 “Colloque Sciences et Technologies des Poudres” - June 26 - 28, 2024
Granutools' team will attend “Colloque Sciences et Technologies des Poudres” (STP 2024), on 26-28 June 2024 in Montpellier, France.
About STP - “Colloque Sciences et Technologies des Poudres”
After the 2021 edition in Saint-Etienne, the Montpellier laboratories QualiSud, IATE, LMGC, ICGM, and C2MA of IMT Mines Alès organize the 13th “Colloque Sciences et Technologies des Poudres”, which will be held from Wednesday, June 26 to Friday, June 28, 2024, in Montpellier.
This event, originating from the divided solids group of the French Society of Process Engineering, is one of the major events for the process engineering community. Its primary objective is to bring together industrial and academic participants working on fundamental and applied issues related to granular matter. The colloquium will provide an opportunity to discuss the latest advancements in the field and encourage exchanges among communities in process engineering, physics, mechanics, chemistry, and physical chemistry, under the general theme: "From Model Powders to Real Powders: Dialogue from One Complexity to Another”.
Presentation - The importance of powder characterization for process improvement
Wednesday, 26 June at 2:00 pm
Aurélien Neveu, Head of Laboratory and Applications at Granutools, will be delivering a presentation titled "The importance of powder characterization for process improvement." This presentation addresses the critical role of powdered materials in various industrial applications, including food and pharmaceutical production, as well as metal part manufacturing.
Dr. Neveu will highlight the significance of understanding powder properties to ensure optimal processability, as challenges such as poor flowability, sticking, and dosage variability often arise. By examining real-world examples, particularly in pharmaceutical and metal additive manufacturing, he will showcase how advancements in powder characterization techniques have led to deeper insights into material behavior. The presentation will introduce novel techniques that offer enhanced accuracy and repeatability compared to traditional methods, enabling industries to achieve better process control and product quality.
