Granutools at AM VILLAGE 2026 - March 16-20, 2026
Granutools joins AM Village 2026 with a PLAE workshop led by Stéphane Caubergh, showcasing advanced powder characterization tools to support defence‑focused additive manufacturing at the Albacete Air Base, March 16–20, 2026.
🟦 Granutools at AM VILLAGE 2026 – Supporting Additive Manufacturing for European Defence
Granutools is proud to announce its participation in AM VILLAGE 2026, taking place from March 16 to 20, 2026, at the Albacete Air Base in Spain. This unique workshop, organized under the umbrella of the European Defence Agency (EDA) and the Spanish Air Force, is entirely dedicated to the use of Additive Manufacturing (AM) in military and defence environments.
Unlike traditional conferences, AM Village is a capability‑focused workshop, combining practical demonstrations, technical briefings, hands‑on interactions, and collaborative sessions between:
- Armed Forces
- Industry
- Academia
- AM technology developers
With a capacity of nearly 400 participants per day, the event provides an exceptional platform for strengthening cooperation, identifying military use cases, and accelerating the adoption of AM technologies in mission‑critical contexts.
🔧 Granutools Workshop Contribution – PLAE Workshop
Representing Granutools on site, Stéphane Caubergh will lead a PLAE-focused workshop, bringing our expertise in powder behavior, flowability, and process optimization to the defence‑oriented AM community.
The workshop will highlight how high‑precision powder characterization tools such as GranuPack, GranuDrum, and GranuCharge can support defence stakeholders in:
- Ensuring robust powder flow in field‑deployed AM systems
- Predicting layer quality under constrained military conditions
- Improving operational readiness through reliable AM production
- Assessing powder aging and reuse cycles in high‑stress environments
- Reducing failures linked to powder cohesion, electrostatics, or packing variability
This hands‑on session aligns with AM Village’s mission to co‑develop mission‑tailored AM solutions through direct interaction between industry and defence partners.
🛡 A Strategic Platform for Defence‑Focused AM Innovation
AM VILLAGE 2026 seeks to:
- Identify military use cases compatible with AM technologies
- Strengthen cooperation between EU Armed Forces and industrial AM suppliers
- Provide practical findings and recommendations for future AM deployment
- Improve the resilience, sustainability, and autonomy of defence supply chains
- Foster a shared European AM knowledge base for logistics and maintenance operations
As the defence sector explores the potential of on‑demand spare parts, battlefield manufacturing, and agile logistics, advanced powder characterization becomes essential for ensuring that AM systems function reliably in harsh and unpredictable environments.
Granutools is proud to support this vision by bringing scientific rigor, repeatability, and process‑relevant insights to the military AM ecosystem.
