Granutools is proud to participate in the 2025 AIChE Annual Meeting, the flagship event for chemical engineers from academia and industry.

Venues: John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, Marriott Copley Place, Sheraton Boston
This year’s theme, “Chemical Engineering Reimagined,” highlights innovation across disciplines, with a strong focus on advanced materials, battery technologies, and pharmaceutical processes.

Granutools Presentations at AIChE 2025

1. Understanding the Relation Between Permeability and Packing Fraction to Improve Tablet Manufacturing

Presenter: Aurélien Neveu, Head of Laboratory and Applications

Date & Time: Monday, November 3, 2025 | 1:42 PM – 2:00 PM

Location: Liberty Ballroom C (2, Sheraton Boston)

This presentation explores how powder permeability, measured at various packing fractions using GranuPack, influences tablet quality.

By correlating permeability data with tensile strength and disintegration behavior, the study provides insights into optimizing pharmaceutical formulations and improving processability.

2. Spreadability of Metal Powders: Combining Powder Characterization and DEM Simulations

Presenter: Aurélien Neveu

Date & Time: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | 8:54 AM – 9:12 AM

Location: Independence Ballroom West (2, Sheraton Boston)

Aurélien Neveu presents a hybrid approach combining GranuDrum characterization with DEM simulations to analyze powder spreadability in additive manufacturing.

The study demonstrates how cohesive strength, particle size, and recoater speed affect layer formation, validated through confocal microscopy and experimental spreading tests.

3. How Powder Characterization Can Improve Battery Electrode Production

Presenter: Aurélien Neveu

Date & Time: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | 4:42 PM – 5:00 PM

Location: Liberty Ballroom C (2, Sheraton Boston)

This talk highlights how powder characterization can enhance dry processes in battery electrode manufacturing. Techniques such as dry mixing, fibrillation, and composite preparation are analyzed using Granutools instruments to predict performance and calibrate DEM simulations for deeper process understanding.

Session Chair: Powder Handling and Processing for Battery Materials

Chair: Aurélien Neveu

Date & Time: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Location: Liberty Ballroom C (2, Sheraton Boston)

This session focuses on particle engineeringpowder characterization, and process optimization for battery electrode manufacturing. Topics include dry processing, material behavior, and the link between powder properties and final battery performance.
