Presentation “Innovative Method Evaluating Permeability for Tableting Process Improvement”
Tablet manufacturing is a complex process where powder behavior plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and performance. In this presentation, Giuseppe Del Sorbo will introduce a novel methodology for evaluating powder permeability using the GranuPack Permeability, an advanced instrument that combines tapped density measurement with dynamic permeability analysis. Unlike traditional methods that assess permeability at a fixed packing fraction, this approach enables measurement across various densification states, reflecting the real conditions during tablet compression. The study compares three powder mixtures and demonstrates how permeability influences air evacuation, particle bonding, and ultimately tablet tensile strength. The findings offer valuable insights into optimizing tableting speed and formulation design for improved pharmaceutical outcomes.
