The Plansee Seminar is an international conference dedicated to advancements in Refractory Metals and Hard Materials. The 2025 edition will address topics such as applications, materials, processes, sustainability, and testing methods through a series of keynote lectures and contributed oral and poster presentations.

In many industrial processes, metallic and composite powders are handled at elevated temperatures. These thermal conditions can significantly alter powder behavior. In this study, we investigated how temperature impacts powder flowability using the GranuDrum rotating drum rheometer. By maintaining the powder environment between room temperature and 250 °C, we measured how factors like moisture content, surface oxidation, and particle stiffness affect cohesiveness and flowability.
Our results show that temperature has a direct influence on powder behavior, underlining the importance of characterizing powders under process-relevant thermal conditions to ensure accurate and reliable performance predictions.
